For a piece you found anywhere, ButtonUp puts it on your own photo, on iPhone. For products in Google Shopping, Google Try On does it free.

The apps

ButtonUp

ButtonUp is an iPhone app for trying on pieces you found anywhere. Add a photo of yourself once. Then screenshot an outfit, share it from another app, or tap Try On while you browse a store inside the app. It tries on clothes, full outfits and accessories.

Google Try On

Built into Google Search and Shopping, and free. Tap Try it on in a listing for a top, bottom, dress or shoes. It shows the item on a photo of you. It works on eligible listings, not screenshots, in 18 countries.

ChatGPT

Since October 1, 2026, clothing and accessory listings in ChatGPT have a Try on button. You can also upload a photo of an item and ask to see it on you.

Glance

Free on iPhone and Android. Glance dresses your photo in looks it puts together from partner brands, and since October it also takes photos you share to it.

Alta

A closet app. Alta builds a look-alike avatar from a headshot and dresses it in what you own, your wishlist or its catalog.

Doji

Doji builds an avatar from several photos of you and dresses it in designer pieces, or in products you add from other sites.

Fits

An outfit planner for the clothes you own. Fits makes a try-on image from a selfie and your body type, one credit per image.

FitRoom

Upload a picture of a garment and FitRoom puts it on your photo or a stock model.

Other options

Zara, ASOS and Amazon have try-on for their own products. Gemini will put a screenshot of clothes on a photo of you, given the right prompt. Google’s Doppl app, which worked from screenshots too, shut down on April 30, 2026.

Questions

Can I try on clothes from a screenshot?

Yes. ButtonUp, FitRoom and Glance work from a picture of the clothes, and ChatGPT will try on an item photo you upload. Google Try On only works on eligible listings in Search and Shopping.

Which virtual try-on apps use your real photo?

ButtonUp, Google Try On, ChatGPT, Glance and FitRoom put clothes on a photo of you. Alta and Doji dress an avatar, and Fits makes a new image from a selfie.

Your next favorite outfit is already in your camera roll.
